Here’s a bumper episode from three months ago we never released! Jelly is in London and Simon takes her chair to discuss the tail end of 2013 including the Sydney production of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels and a cozy little production of The Light In The Piazza produced by Malvern Theatre Company and Lilydale Athenaeum Theatre Company (the actress playing Margaret was Gabrielle O’Brien). We also have a laugh over Laura Benanti’s Times Square video.

Then, via the magic of an iPhone and dropbox, we head to London as Jelly and guest critic, TV writer Sarah Dollard, report from London on the RSC’s production of Richard II starring David Tennant. Their verdict is: disappointing; needed a monkey and a montage. But they loved Oliver Ford Davies, Michael Pennington, sets by Stephen Brimson Lewis, Tim Mitchell‘s terrific lighting design and understudy/man to watch, Edmund Wiseman. They also report that audience behavior reached a new low including someone in the balcony at the Barbican trying to kill Snaz (possibly).
