One night in Rome in 1651, a woman sat down to dinner with her husband, serving him a bowl of soup. But before he could take a sip, the woman broke down and confessed to her husband that she had laced it with poison in an attempt to kill him.

As you might expect, the husband was none too happy about his wife’s plan to kill him, and he had her arrested. The woman was then tortured by authorities until she gave up the name of the person who had sold her the colourless, odourless, tasteless poison: Giulia Tofana.

This week we’re covering serial poisoner, Giulia Tofana who allegedly helped over 600 people poison their spouses with her Aqua Tofana concoction.
