Geekletes is a newly opened Esports Studio located in the popular southern Dallas, sports-centric city of Desoto, TX. Home of popular athletes such as Von Miller and Errol Spence Jr. , Martin chose to relocate their Geekletes headquarters from their 1500 sq ft arena initially located in Downtown Dallas, which first launched in 2015, to the newly renovated former ITT building in DeSoto which boasts 15,300 square feet transformed into a gaming oasis that includes a private streaming room, a competition stage, podcast recording studios, tournament hosting rooms, an outdoor basketball court, and a cafe equipped with a bar.

Geekletes Co-Founder Danny Martin defines the name “Geekletes” as a brand name synonymous with any individual who is part of the Esports industry as a player or advocate. Martin grew up in South Dallas attending schools in Oak Cliff, Lancaster, and Desoto. His entrance into the gaming industry came to him as a student at the University of Texas in San Antonio where he studied and received a BA in Business Administration with a focus on Entrepreneurship. “It all started with an individual who sought me out to help repair gaming consoles for his company. I would solicit customers on campus in exchange for his mentorship. As I started to collect data on these customers, I realized that Esports was going to be big business at the time and knew I needed to get in,” Martin said.

Martin hosted his first Esports tournament as part of his capstone in college and learned the ins and out of the Esports tournament world. In which prompted an interest in developing a software platform specifically for tournament hosting. The ideal place to learn was within the heart of San Fran, so he accepted a position at a venture backed tech start-up and eventually started working with IBM. Martin was relocated back to Dallas through IBM but was excited to return home to start building back into the communities he once grew up in.
