It has been said that owners, who certainly  carry all the power, have united in a collusionary manner to keep salaries just. With that, we saw free agent signings that went right into the season like the Phillies signing of Hake Arietta. This year, Manny Machado mentioned that he wanted to announce his signing right after the New Year on January 1st and Harper, who rejected a 300 million ten year deal felt the same. The trouble is that once agaib, both are awaiting signings and with the White Sox offer of 180 million for 7 years to Mahacdo in January, could find themselves still unsigned by spring traing.
