The excitement with new Met owner Steve Cohen the thirteen billuion dollar man of the Mets drew great admiration from Mets fans, but as the team faltered through a depleted pitching staff as well as numerous injuries, the MetsĀ  losses piled up and cost the franchise the NL East.
