The Philadelphia Sixers beat the Brooklyn Nets and Ben Simmons recorded 34 points in his triple double. He had 12 assists, 12 rebounds, and five steals. Oh by the way, two blocks. It was a remarkable game for him. Matisse Thybulle was also insanely active as he had four steals and was annoying the Nets all night long. Al Horford came up big with some blocks and a few shots down the stretch as he finished with 19 points. Tobias Harris and Josh Richardson were just, eh. Mike Scott was able to knock down a couple threes and Furkan Korkmaz struggled throughout, but hit a big three-pointer later in the game which was monstrous.
The Philadelphia Flyers head into the all-star break with another big win under their belt. They defeat the Pittsburgh Penguins by a score of 3-0 and Brian Elliott records a 19-save shutout. They have now taken down four of the best teams in the NHL over a 14-day stretch. The penalty kill was absolutely outstanding and Kevin Hayes made the entire building erupt as he milked clock with beautiful moves. Jakub Voracek opened the scoring with a great goal, but the best part about it was Sean Couturier's laser pass through a ridiculous window. Joel Farabee also recorded an assist on the goal. For the second goal, my favorite line the Flyers have right now hopped on the score sheet. James Van Riemsdyk drove the net and Travis Konecny delivered a pass to him backdoor. Claude Giroux, centering the line, received an assists as well. This line put together by Alain Vigneault has been awesome. Sidney Crosby heard BOOs everytime he touched the puck. The audacity by Flyers fans... he is my favorite player in the world. It's a violation, I know. The Flyers head into the break with a 27-17-6 record.
