The Philadelphia Sixers lose to the Indiana Pacers on the road which makes it their sixth straight road loss. The story after the game was the poor shooting from three-point land as they finished with six threes in 33 attempts. That is a whomping 18.2%. Ben Simmons had a monster first half scoring 20 points with nine rebounds. He finished with 24 points and had zero in the fourth quarter. Without Joel Embiid this team is struggling without a doubt. Tobias Harris and Al Horford need to contribute more. Mike Scott is unplayable and Josh Richardson was the only player who stepped up in the fourth quarter as he recorded 17 points and did everything he could to hold the Sixers into the game. TJ Warren and Malcolm Brogdon did most of the damage for the Pacers. Brett Brown dialed up a play late in the game out of a timeout which resulted in Harris getting swatted as the perimeter.
The Philadelphia Flyers come back to beat the Boston Bruins 6-5 in a shootout after being down three goals in the second period! This was a fantastic victory as they find a way to battle through adversity and beat one of the best teams in the NHL. Carter Hart settled into the game and once he did that, he made timely saves and was big in the shootout of course. Sean Couturier recorded three points, Travis Sanhiem scored two goals, Kevin Hayes had a beauty, and Travis Konecny scored the only goal in in the shootout off the post which redirected in. At the end of the overtime period with time expiring, Ivan Provorov missed a wide open net as Jaroslav Halak got his right pad on the biscuit. It was a possibly a killer for this team, but they were able to finish the job. What a beautiful win and a confidence booster!
