The Philadelphia Eagles lose to the Seattle Seahawks in the playoffs by a score of 17-9. Carson Wentz left the game with a concussion after a dirty hit from Jadeveon Clowney. Considering the circumstances of Josh McCown coming into the game for a significant amount of time, I thought Doug Pederson coached a great game. His mindset was obviously to keep the team involved and to be aggressive late. There were definitely times when he was more cautious than normal, but I thought it was an effective way to do it. Zach Ertz battled with his rib injury, Dallas Goedert made plays, and Fletcher Cox dominated. The guys battled hard and gave the fans everything they could. There are some plays that frustrated me defensively. For example, there were too many third down conversions for the Seahawks and Russell Wilson. DK Metcalf torched the DBs and Howie Roseman should be disgusted that JJ Arcega-Whiteside was drafted over him. At the end of the day, I am proud that they battled and that they were involved in a 1 possession game with under 2 minutes to go with the ball close to the end zone. With the cards they were dealt..... I am sort of impressed.
The Philadelphia Sixers snap their four game losing streak by beating the Oklahoma City Thunder at the Wells Fargo Center. Joel Embiid dislocated his finger, but returned to the game and had 18 points, nine rebounds, and eight assists. Ben Simmons was rock solid as he provided 15 rebounds on top of his 17 points and eight assists. Brett Brown is using him as the screener with Josh Richardson again and it is clearly working. Richardson scored 23 points and was effective. Al Horford scored in double digits which is what this team needs and Mike Scott hit a couple three-pointers in the fourth quarter! Trey Burke had a decent run off the bench. It was a very solid win as Brown was looking for the guys to "hunt threes" and they sure did. The Sixers finished shooting 50% from behind the arc.
