The Philadelphia Eagles will host the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday to keep the playoff hopes alive. Both teams are 7-7 for a reason, but I don't feel great TODAY about it from an Eagles perspective.Doug Pederson and Carson Wentz needs to be on the same page and execute the gameplan. Miles Sanders has been an absolute stud and so has Zach Ertz. Will Greg Ward be good enough as the only one wide receiver? Dak Prescott, Ezekiel Elliot, and the Boys are coming off of a hot win against the Rams, but Dak is injured. How serious is it?
The Philadelphia Sixers lose for the first time at home this season. They fall to the Miami Heat by a score of 108-104. Yes, Jimmy Butler was heavily hearing the boos once again, but this time it didn't matter. The Heat used a zone in the second quarter which completely screwed up the Sixers offense and it changed the game completely. Miami scored 37 points that quarter and finished the first half on a 27-7 run. Joel Embiid barely had any shot attempts and Ben Simmons was useless as the team stood around and jacked up three-pointers that were not falling. The defense suffered in that quarter as well. Somehow, it came down to the wire as the Sixers did not give up. With the shot clocked pulled and Ben Simmons dribbling up the court, down two points, he picked up his dribble when driving on Kendrick Nunn to kick the ball out to Al Horford. He missed the game-winning shot attempt. Ben Simmons HAS to drive the ball in that situation as Nunn is 6'2 trying to guard him. Joel Embiid had 22 points and 19 rebounds, but was -11. He wasn't good enough.
The Philadelphia Flyers smoke the Buffalo Sabres by a score of 6-1 to continue their success at home. They have at least recorded a point in 16 of their 18 home games, as they are 12-2-4 at the Wells Fargo Center. Jack Eichel was a late scratch which effected the game as is currently rocking a 17 game point streak. 11 different players for the Orange & the Black registered a point. Travis Konecny had three assists, Kevin Hayes made outstanding passes and was rewarded with two apples as well. Sean Couturier had a two-point night and Matt Niskanen joined the club, too. The puck luck was absolutely on the Flyers side in this one since multiple pucks redirected off Buffalo and past Carter Hutton. Speaking of Goaltenders, Carter Hart only allowed one goal and is playing sharp!
