At the same time, Dallas Cates, who Joe helped lock up years ago, is released from prison. He wants revenge on the people who sent him away including Joe himself. After seeing news reports of grizzly attacks in Twelve Sleep County, Cates has an idea:  He can take out his enemies in such a way that no one will suspect him. As Joe is asked to join the state Predator Attack Team to try to find and destroy the bear the bear can’t be trapped or found. As the attacks continue and escalate, will Joe be able to figure out which ones are real and which ones are staged before he’s the target?
