Georgia Silvera Seamans is the co-founding director of Washington Square Park Eco Projects in New York City where you can find her looking at plants and watching birds. She is an urban forester, independent researcher, and writer. She has bylines with Popular Science, Audubon.com, and UrbanOmnibus.net, and her research has been published in academic journals. She blogs about urban nature at www.localecologist.org. She holds degrees from Wesleyan University, the Yale School of the Environment, and University of California, Berkeley .
