Today we sit down with historian, author, and podcaster David Parsons of the Nostalgia Trap podcast to cover a variety of topics that are rarely discussed in-depth: from the nostalgia trap of Ken Burns documentaries, anti-capitalism, the Vietnam War, loneliness and the search for community, Howard Zinn and Noam Chomsky as gateway to psychedelics and Terence McKenna, reactionary hippies, and then the often most ignored part of the Left—Left physical culture. Things such as sports, working out, and MMA, and how that can not only function as a way to maintain mental health and community for activists, but also work as a natural bridge to talk about labor and teamwork with sports fans.

And if you love the show, tell your friends. Spread the word. Tell them they're missing out. Also, rate and review us. Be detailed, and tell us about yourself and how you heard of us. This lets Apple and other podcasting apps know that they should be telling their other users about us.
