THE DANCE DECADE 1988 SOUL A:M

We touch down onto multiple dance floors within this weeks episode as the seeds of change are about to firmly take root.

Mother Soul had woven her magic since her conceptual birth out of the strings and Horns of Jazz, Often sending warnings of her evolution as witnessed during the early 1970s with dance soul morphing into what we experienced as Disco, And what an eruption it was too! All to a backdrop where most services flowed free? And I’m not just talking about the water!

Sadly we all found out how this lottery lifestyle ended! Luckily when the smoke settled dance music would once again lay its foundations for another fabulous decade in Dance the Fantastic 80s Groove.

Here we are once again at a pivotal moment in music where Soul music has created multiple sub genres all vying for your love to be ejected across the dance-floors, Hip Hop & Deep House had somehow fund each other, Rare Grooves had returned to remind us original is always best! And what we now call Classic House was infecting all who embraced her in true 808 state and would subsequently also go through its very own evolutionary transformation from Acid to Hard to Jungle and beyond! All the way back to Disco.

What a trip this was and I had the best seat in the house… Witnessing you all shake your things to my records on the now extinct Hallowed turf we once called the Dance-Floor,
