Since the 1970s this alternate way of releasing tracks for distribution often overlooked by their parent companies which not only rose in popularity but became an essential way of obtaining lessor known rarities to add to your collections,

Often touted as Power-plays or Hits with attractive cover Art by the labels to invoke a retail attraction, the invitation to sample various artists via Long play Media [LPs] was enough pulling power for me, with many decades spent soul searching record stores globally with an attraction too enticing to resist to this very day.
