Restaurant Workers’ Community Foundation
The RWCF, which works across a number of labor issues in the restaurant industry, launched the RWCF COVID-19 Emergency Relief Fund. The fund collects donations to provide relief to individual workers affected by the coronavirus and to create zero-interest loans to businesses. As of Tuesday, March 31 at 9:00 a.m. EST (about 15 days after they launched the fund):
+ $501,000 — Total individual donations raised
60% — Percentage of individual donations $50 or less
$1,819,000 — Corporate and foundation commitment
+15,000 — Emails to RWCF from workers seeking help
