Today we have a special week as we invite Arizona State Football Beat Reporter Michelle Gardner of the Arizona Republic and AZ Central to join us UCLA Beat Report from the the Orange County Register James Williams and co-host Jorge Medina in this special FIRST TAKE and PTI edition of the Something's Bruin Podcast.

Both teams are 3-1 and lost to a powerfully ranked mid-major school and won their first pac-12 league game. Can this game decide who the winner of the South will be in the Pac12 or is it too early to tell. We will tell you.

(0;00-2:19) Introduction of our guest Michelle Gardner, beat reporter for the Arizona State Sun Devils fo the Arizona Republic.

(2:20-3:30) Both UCLA and Arizona State have been the playing the same style of football, both teams lost to a ranked mid-major team and won their first league game. And both are the favorite to come out of the South now.

(3:31-8:20 )  Both Michelle Gardner talk about the Offenses for both teams and their impact players.  QB Jayden Daniels come home to California looking for the upset.  He is looking to make an impact for Arizona State. RB Rashad White looks to break through that UCLA tough run defense. Arizona State will look to run. On the other side Charbonet and DTR will look to make a difference for the Bruins. Charbonet got his first start against Stanford. Kyle Philips came up big and will need a repeat performance

(8:23-18:45) Arizona State defense has been a real strength of their team. Darian Butler is a monster linebacker that will give the Bruins some trouble and pressure.  Their defense has been stout and don't allow the big plays. Arizona State front has been a bit thin this year.  For UCLA Quinton Lake looks to return to the field this week. He should make an impact on defense. After the defense seem to wake up in the first half of the Stanford game. They held Stanford to under a hundred yards rushing. Which bolds big as they face tough running ASU team. They will look to force turnovers. They still can't defend the big play which almost got them in trouble against Stanford. The Secondary looks frustrating again with back to back 50 yard touchdowns. ASU shouldn't give UCLA the same trouble, that is not their game.

(18:46-27:02) Coaching styles differ, how will Herm Edwards coach against the Innovative style of Chip Kelly. ASU hasn't faced a team with this caliber of offense so far. Edwards out recruited UCLA and USC in southern california. But an investigation in the ASU football department, the momentum has stalled a bit.  Chip Kelly is the polar opposite on he handles injury news and program stuff, compared to Edwards.

(27:03-33:54 ) Life as a beat writer for a college football team can be tough. Trying to find coaches who answer questions and come clean on stuff is hard. Always wanted to know how it is to cover a beat for a newspaper. Check out this segment.  Edwards once threatened to close practices if a writer wrote about injuries.

(33:55-40:54) Does a team like UCLA or Arizona State winning the PAC12 show the nation that this conference is important or will it take more than that. Like USC starting to Win again.

(40:55-44:58) Another late start game. Does that hurt a UCLA trying to move up the rankings. All of ASU games have been at 7:30pm West Coast time this season.

(44:58-52:22) Three Keys to winning the game Michelle Gardner gives here keys to ASU winning the game and James Williams gives his keys for UCLA  winning the game

(52:23-59:30) Predictions for the game

(1:00:00- 1:17:39) Questions from the Fans
