Welcome to another episode of “Something…came from Baltimore”. Tonight, I have the honor to speak with the saxophonist Gerald Albright. Gerald Albright is a true jazz superstar, he worked as a session musician and then joined forces with Patrice Rushan’s band before he went solo. In 1987 he released with his first album “Just Between Us”. And in a weird way, the rest is history. Gerald Albright has released one charting topping hit album one after another. In 2016, he releases “G” on his own label Bright Music Records, and now he is back to celebrate his 30 years as a solo artist, with album called, “30”. What is great about this record is that it is not just a greatest hits record, but an updated remix of some of his music classics, like “Bermuda Nights”, “New Beginnings” and “Sooki, Sooki". “30” will be released on May 18, and I recently I had a chance to chat with Gerald about this project, the Summer Horns, and we catch up with the talented Albright Family.
