Welcome to another episode of Something came from Baltimore. I am your host Tom Gouker and tonight on the phone I have the bassist of the GoGo Penguin Nick Blacka. Gogo Penguin is a genre bender, kinda jazz, EDM, classical, they are funky with dark overtones. There new album is "self titled" and this is there own personal, "Revolver" I suspect the "Sqt Pepper" is on its way.
In 2018, I had to opportunity to speak with the piano player Chris Illingworth, at the release of "A Humdrum Star". "A Humdrum Star" was my album of the year, 2018.
In 2019, the Manchester trio Chris, Nick and Rob Turner on Drums released an ep called, "Ocean in the Drop:Music for film, where they removed the original score of Philip Glass from the 1982 documentary from director Godfry Reggio's, Koyaanisqatsi and the band played it live to the film in various city across the world.
June 5th, is the release of the new "self titled" album from Gogo Penguin.
