Austin Texas is the place to be to hear great music and a good place to check out a local treasure like Tomar and the FCs. The bands second album is called "Rise Above" and it fits somewhere in a mix of Sharon Jones and the Dap-kings, St. Paul and the Broken Bones, and Donnel Jones and the Indications. Fresh off the Stax-funk vine, Tomar and the FCs are the real deal. I got a chance to chat with the drummer Paul Kresowick and spin some great new tunes off the album "Rise Above".
