Brina Kay works at her own pace, even during stressful times. The main theme of this talk is growth, and how you can’t grow as a person without leaving that comfort zone. Brina told me about what her move to Nashville was like, and even after hearing of things going catastrophically wrong, losing her job, car breaking down, getting locked out of her apartment, Brina was able to take all these setbacks in stride, using them to inspire her work. I think there’s an importance in being able to find objectivity in what you create, and part of that can be found in the company you keep. I think I heard or read somewhere that a person is only the sum of their five closest friends, so if they’re winning, you’re winning. Self-awareness to any degree is a good thing, so maybe take a look around at those who are supporting you the most. Keep 'em close, bc those are the ones that’ll take you where you wanna go.
