Carolyn's at TIFF and speaks with director of Working Woman, Michal Aviad!

Born in Jerusalem, Michal Aviad is an acclaimed and award-winning feminist filmmaker of both documentaries and narrative films. She studied literature and philosophy at Tel Aviv University, and began making films in San Francisco in the 1980's. Since returning to Israel in 1991, she has continued to write, direct and produce films, and work as an activist for women's rights. Aviad is a senior faculty member at Tel Aviv University's Tisch School of Cinema. Her critically acclaimed films include Acting Our Age (87), Jenny and Jenny (97), Invisible (11), and Dimona Twist (16).

Working Woman is currently part of the Contemporary World Cinema Programme, at the Toronto International Film Festival. 

Working Woman is a film that takes a close and personal look at how sexual harassment in the work place takes a toll on the protagonist Orna (Liron Ben Shlush), as she tries to navigate an environment that becomes increasingly toxic.

Working Woman makes its international premiere Tuesday, September 11th.
