Several toy lines do it. Hotwheels, Funko, and Jazwares all participate in the practice. They developed a toy line for the masses, but then make a limited number of items that collectors must discover, by chance, by being at the right store during the right time. These are called chase items - items that could require multiple store visits to track down. With many people chasing a limited item, it gets tiring fast. Toy company’s say that this makes their toy line more collectible - but is that an accurate description of their practice? If you’re like the hosts of the Smugglers’ Galaxy Podcast, you may find the practice to be more frustrating than beneficial. Join hosts Glen and Jason as they talk about this collecting gimmick and wonder if it enhances collecting or makes it more frustrating. Additionally, they are back from a Georgia Alliance of Star Wars Collectors meetup. Learn all about what happened. They also discuss news and their latest pickups!
