During the early morning of October 23rd, 1997, officer David Epperson with the Jackson County Sheriff's Department was conducting a routine patrol in Lincoln Cemetery in Kansas City Missouri.

For Officer Epperson, the shift was like any other, until 3:45 am when he discovered the body of a young woman laying on the side of the main cemetery road. The woman was unrecognizable due to an apparent point blank gunshot blast to the nose and was cold to the touch.

Within a few hours, the woman would be identified as 18 year old Anastasia Witsbolfeugen when her father alerted authorities that Anastasia never returned home that night.

After many sinister twists and turns, a suspect would be arrested for Anastasia’s death 3 years later, however, nearly 20 years after the arrest, his guilt or innocence is still hotly contested, with seemingly as many supporters rallying for his release as there are detractors convinced of his guilt.
