Hosts Josh and Jamie and special guest rock critic Steven Hyden discuss a double feature of movies loosely connected to legendary heartland rocker Bruce Springsteen: Ulu Grosbard's LA noir conspiracy-Catholic brother melodrama TRUE CONFESSIONS (1981) starring the two Roberts (Duvall and De Niro) that apparently inspired his 1982 album NEBRASKA, and Paul Schrader's Ohio blue-collar bar band family melodrama LIGHT OF DAY (1987) that before eventually casting Michael J. Fox and Joan Jett was originally written in the late 70s as a star vehicle for Springsteen under the working title BORN IN THE U.S.A.
