Today we begin Season 6 of SlashU with a "remake" of the 80s classic Slumber Party Massacre. Turns out it's not an actual remake. This is definitely a stand-alone movie with some subtle references to the old version. The story centers around Dana and her friends out for a girls weekend. They get "stranded" in the wilderness and are forced to stay the night in a creepy cabin where they are stalked by Russ Thorn, a.k.a. the Driller Killer.

Written and directed by women, this "Famale Empowerment" flick serves as a hilarious reminder of the tropes that we see in other slashers that surround female exploitation. Because in this movie the boys get their comeuppance.
