Leaving the Wall of Souls, Emmeline finally understood the truth of her situation and it was not good.  Revelations that the Citadel of Light had sent forth a predator to track and capture here was daunting, but now at least they had a target.  

The Passage of Verve might be far away, but that it all she had to cling to.  If she can avoid the drahl and the predator, there was a chance she might yet survive this.
