Julius Caesar was on his was to the Theatre of Pompey for the meeting of the Senate, when he saw them. It was the same Seer who had told Caesar earlier that harm would come to him by March XV -the “ides of March”.  The ambitious dictator couldn’t help himself, and he approached the Seer.

“Well, the Ides of March are come” he said, implying that the prophecy had been wrong - it was the 15th he was fine and more powerful than ever.

“Aye, they have come but they are not gone” the Seer replied.

Julius Caesar continued to the senate meeting, unconcerned, and the rest is Ancient Roman history...
