January is considered Radon Action Month. Radon is a colorless, odorless, and tasteless gas that can leak into your home. In the United States, radon is considered the second leading cause of lung cancer, with smoking being the leading cause. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency recommends that all Iowa homes be tested for radon and homes with levels over 4 pCi/L be fixed. Listen as Alicia Sanders, Environmental Specialist with the Siouxland District Health Department, talks about radon and how you can get your home tested.
