I'm getting into Lucky Daye's song, "Over", from his recent album Candydrip. It's about that toxic relationship that you keep going back to and feels impossible to let go of. He compares it to being trapped in a bad dream that you can't escape. Sometimes we fear letting go of someone because we think they might change for the next person and if we would've just been patient and given them one more chance, then it could've been us. Then i get into some Twitter discourse about a woman saying she stopped seeing a guy because he didn't compliment her once on a date. People were in an uproar. Then i talk about a crazy Tik Tok I saw about a girl spilling about how she used to do everything for her ex, she was basically his mom, and the audacity of men like that. I know people talk about girlfriend versus wife duties, but the things she was doing are above even a wife's pay grade. Then i talk about the codependent to hyper-independent pipeline and why it's not healthy, and how being consistent and keeping your word play into it all when dealing with someone who is hyper-independent due to trauma or just years of dealing with unreliable people.
