This 38th episode of the Sideline Sass Podcast is dedicated to the girls – the ones chasing their dreams, the ones inspiring others, the ones inspiring themselves and especially the ones supporting and lifting up other girls.

Host Emily Van Buskirk talks with two hard-working women embracing their individual grinds. First up, Emily chats with long-time Twitter friend VF Castro about her journey into sports journalism, her book “The Modern Girls’ Guide To The Gridiron,” and her take on the future of sports. VF talks about the time she spent covering Texas Tech football as well as her current pursuit of higher education.

Later, Emily interviews Cal Lutheran University football kicker Morgan Salzwedel about what it’s like playing ball with the boys. Morgan tells the story of how she found her way to the football field, what role competitive soccer played in her journey and which Major League Soccer team her father played for. She talks about what it’s like being part of a Cal Lutheran legacy and what it means to inspire women every time she steps out on the field to kick a field goal or a point after.
