Ep107: Alex Bunton lifts the lid on Domestic Violence

In a raw and deeply personal episode Alex 'Bunts' Bunton, a former Opal and UCCapitals big allows us in to her lived experience as a Domestic Violence “DV” victim survivor.

In their final home game, the UCCaps play Perth Lynx and will sponsor the DV awareness round to help people gain a better understanding, and allow the various support services to be visible.

Returning from retirement and relishing her platform to lift the lid on DV, Bunts generously shares her experience with the hope that as we talk more openly about this devastating issue, more common than people may realise, we can remove the stigma and understand what DV looks like for victims.

Her hope is that as a community we are more alert, understanding and know how to help and respond.

We’re so grateful to Bunts for her bravery in sharing this, as she reminds us DV does not discriminate, it’s complex and happens under a veil of secrecy.
