Following our last podcast with Chris Parish on lead ammunition and the toll it is taking on our Peregrine Falcon, we wanted to learn more about non-lead ammunition and its performance.  We found Russell Kuhlman, a new hire at BHA.  Russell is currently the California and Nevada Chapter Coordinator.  He has quite an extensive background in firearms and ammunition and even has a degree in Wildlife Biology.  Prior to his newly acquired position with BHA, he was the California Non-lead Outreach Coordinator.  There he shot and tested the performance of various lead and non-lead ammunition into ballistic gel and jugs of water.  He shot everything from pistol, rifle, shotgun and even muzzleloader ammunition.  He was also a Skeet and Trap Coordinator at a local gun range.  In this episode Russell shares his research and spreads a wealth of knowledge on how different non-lead ammunition types perform.  It was shocking to find out just how well some of these no-lead ammo's perform at long ranges!  So if your curious on how this no-lead ammo performs and where you can get your hands on it, give this episode a listen!

Here is a website Russell created awhile back on how non-lead performs at long range (400 yards).
