@The Mamas & The Papas  did this cover song in 1965 and it still holds up to this day. I believe it fits very well into my Darkwave and Gothic Oeuvre even though it is clearly neither. But it has this bittersweet sadness and it is just an all around great tune. So please (re-)check it out with me!
