I've admired Jana's brand from afar for a while now so when a potential interviewee dropped out late the night before our planned recording (for completely understandable reasons) and I had a meeting room booked in London for 10am the next day, it didn't take long for me to message Jana and see if she fancied stepping in for a chat!

Thankfully for us lot, she said, "yes!"

After walking away from an anxiety-inducing career in the fashion industry to launch her own business, Jana (pronounced "Yana like banana" in case you were wondering...!) has grown The Completist into a well-established stationery brand within what is, in the grand scheme of things, a relatively short period of time. On a rainy Monday morning in London, the two of us sat down to chat about how she’s learnt to embrace her unique style to ensure that she stands out in an already saturated market and learnt to adapt to the ebbs and flows of self-employed life by shifting her focus during the quieter months. We also discuss how she went about seeking office space in London and prepared for the upgrade from flat to office from a financial perspective; to the more challenging reality of how she manages self-care, relationships and work/life boundaries when she is, in her own words, a self-confessed "workaholic"... If you haven't already heard of her brand, I highly recommend taking a peek. She's one very talented designer in my eyes who deserves every bit of success that comes her way.
