It's my birthday and I am 41 today! I decided to celebrate my birthday differently this year. I will share with you the life-changing lessons I have learned in the past years. I call this my Wisdom Series: 41 Days of my Life Lessons. So in the next 41 days, I will be sharing my life lessons and how they can propel you towards a better, brighter future.

We start off our wisdom series with a great topic today; Your current situation is not your final destination. My mother, an orphan at a very young age, had to raise 3 children on her own. Being a single mother of three is no piece of cake, especially when you are poor. When I was born, my family lived in a shack in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe.  One of my grandmothers asked my mother how she was going to feed me. A valid question at that. My mother was poor, very poor, so my grandmother was genuinely worried as to how I was going to be fed, clothed, etc. Taking care of a baby is not cheap either. What amazes me up to this day is my mother's response, " Angazi mama, sithembinkosi.", which means," I don't know, In God we trust." and that's how I got my name. And that's how my life began, it was rough. My sister had to quit school to take care of me and my mother struggled to support me and my siblings. Despite my hopeless situation, here I am today. In the words of Zig Ziglar, "Always remember that your present situation is not your final destination. The best is yet to come.". If the best came for me then it will definitely come for you, your story is not over yet. I refused to be defined by my past, I refused to sit back and do nothing, I had to make a change. Yes, you can make a change too. Refuse to give in to your situation, it is not your final destination.
