Nana Agyemang is the CEO and founder of EveryStylishGirl and EveryStylishGirl Biz, focused on advancing opportunities for women of color in fashion, business and beauty (EveryStylishGirl also operates annual conferences, called Sip N’ Slay). Nana is a multimedia journalist and entrepreneur, who has worked for New York Magazine, ELLE Magazine and Refinery29. She made waves as the Social Media Editor for The Cut, as the voice of a social generation. Her quick meme game and tone of voice for The Cut’s captions defined and set the tone for the future of Instagram (the proof is in the numbers: The Cut’s following increased by an 80% growth rate and she doubled the Instagram audience to 1 million followers in about a year.)

Nana also recently dropped an ebook called “Social Media Tips I Wish More People Knew About” (in partnership with the social media platform Later).

In this episode, we discuss Nana’s top tips for anyone looking to improve their social media game, how she defined the voice of a social generation as the social media editor at The Cut, and she shares her advice for women pursuing a career in journalism.
