In our latest sermon, we delve into a conversation steeped in the essence of Luke 17:7-10, challenging the performance-based norms of society. We encourage our listeners to shift their focus from self-validation to serving God with humility and heart. This paradigm shift from self to service, from gaining points to glorifying God’s name, promises a liberating perspective on faith and service.

John explores the parable of the mustard seed, the insignia of humility, and how it punctuates the truth that we are simply servants carrying out our Master’s instructions. This exploration is a testament to the transformative power of faith, demonstrating that we are not here to prove our worth but to humbly serve.

The discussion reminds us of the power of the Holy Spirit, the ultimate source of our strength to do God’s work, making us realize that serving God is about loving Him and understanding that all we have comes from Him. The narrative of a young boy offering his five loaves and two fishes to Jesus to feed a multitude of 5000 is another focal point in this sermon. This story reinforces the idea that it’s not about the size of the gift, but the magnitude of the Giver. The boy’s humble offering, under God’s anointing, mushroomed into a miracle, feeding thousands. This narrative serves as a reminder that even seemingly insignificant contributions can result in remarkable outcomes when used for God’s glory.

As we navigate this journey of faith, John emphasizes the importance of seeking God’s strength over relying on our abilities. Serving God faithfully involves recognizing our imperfections and understanding that our abilities are not a yardstick for validation but a platform to serve God with humility. We also discuss the power of prayer, the spiritual dynamite that fuels our resolve to serve God faithfully. Prayer serves as a spiritual compass, guiding us towards serving God with humility and heart. It provides us with the strength and boldness to step out of our comfort zone and be dedicated to serving God, bringing glory to His name.

This sermon is a call to all listeners to join us on this journey of discovery and transformation, where serving God isn’t about gaining points but about giving glory to His name. It’s about recognizing that our abilities are gifts from God, meant to be used for His service. This understanding can transform our lives and the lives of those around us, offering a fresh perspective on faith and service.
