The Meaning of Life

LIFE CONSISTS IN WHAT WE HAVE IN CHRIST: Sunday, August 4, 2019

"A man's life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions." Isn't that statement almost anti-American?

Marketing and advertising revolve around trying to convince you that life is measured by the abundance of what you have. You are missing out if you don't have ______. But as we expect, Jesus leads us to see that no possession will ever fill the hole in our hearts - only faith in Jesus makes us rich toward God.

In Colossians we are encouraged to think about heavenly things, putting to death what belongs to our earthly nature and in Ecclesiastes the wisest man ever reminds us how meaningless the things of this life are. All of this leads us to find our riches in Christ!
