When was the last time you were sincerely surprised, or shocked, by the kinds of people Jesus chose to work with? Who were those people, and what made them “odd choices”?
Which of the disciples do you think you would’ve gotten along with? Which ones do you think you would’ve wanted to punch in the face?
As you seriously ponder the team Jesus assembles (think of your local church community) …are you nervous or concerned about how you might fail, or how you might get hurt?
How does the life of Joseph (Gen.37-50) help you settle into the inescapable vulnerabilities of church and great commission (Matt.10:16)?
