The Hart Children: A Heartbreaking Tale of Abuse and Murder

One image that I saw shared around quite a bit last year featured a little boy of colour holding a sign that says “free hugs”. In the next image, the same little boy is seen hugging a police officer with tears in his eyes. And I thought to myself as most people did - what a beautiful image. Unfortunately the truth of this photo and the events that occurred after this photo will break your heart in the most unimaginable of ways. This is the story of the Hart Children Murders.
