The Seppeltsfield 100 Year Old Para Vintage Tawny is borne from the vision of Oscar Benno Pedro Seppelt, who in 1878 began the legacy of maturing single vintage Tawny for 100 years before release.
Benno’s foresight has led Seppeltsfield to nurturing the world’s longest and only unbroken collection (lineage) of single vintage tawny since 1878; creating a living museum of Australian winemaking history and undoubtedly the ‘jewel in the crown’ of the Seppeltsfield estate.
The Seppeltsfield 100 Year Old Para Vintage Tawny remains the only wine ever to be awarded 100/100 points (perfect score) in James Halliday Australian Wine Companion. It is also one of twenty-two wines marked as 'Exceptional' in the current edition of the Langton's Classification of Australian Wine.
The 'Exceptional' category comprises the most highly prized of all Australian fine wines.
