That brings me around to my question for you, where would you suggest is the best place to start on my quest? Thanks for the great content you’ve provided via your emails and podcasts.”
Right now it’s important to take action & start uploading to Amazon. Here are 4 steps that can help out new Merchers in 2018.
1. Choose what text to put on the t-shirt, using one of these options:
Something you love & have knowledge of.. sports, pet, job, hobby
Look on the t-shirts on amazon and get inspiration on whats selling today
Use software to research this, like merch informer
Get ideas from friends, family, kids (kids are great), or just from local shops & what people wear on t-shirts in your are
2. Check the trademark database – USPTO.GOV
3. Make the design. Use a transparent background, and because most people buy black t-shirts, I recommend to use white text to start off with. White text on a black t-shirt is easy to read and sells well
To make on computer, use something like designdonkey.me
To make on iphone or ipad, use Word Rabbit or Vintage Font
If you know how to use Adobe PS or Illustrator use one of those
4. Upload the design to Merch… this will be easier than you think. The website is very straightforward to use. After you upload your design should be live in a few hours on amazon.com
