Historically, presidents of both parties have determined who can come to the United States. That’s because the Founders and Congress have wisely given the nation’s Chief Executive the authority to make that call.

Donald Trump ran for the White House pledging to stop importing radical Islamic terrorists – an eminently sensible, necessary and very popular idea. To do so, President Trump decided to restrict immigration from failed and hostile majority Muslim nations – that had been recognized as problematic by Barack Obama – until a way can be found to differentiate obvious foes from potential friends.

But Mr. Trump’s sensible and needed restrictions have been repeatedly countermanded by overreaching federal judges with their anti-constitutional rulings. The Supreme Court will review such judicial misconduct today – and must affirm the president’s unique authority to protect our country from would-be immigrants who wish us ill.
