After a tank mine blew up below him in Al Anbar Province, Iraq in 2004, Jake suffered compound fractures in his leg and arm, multiple skin, ligament and bone losses, burns, partial loss of his left hand and arm, amputation below the knee, a traumatic brain injury and PTSD.

Today, he is the CEO of the One Tribe Foundation, which combats suicide by empowering veterans, first responders, medical frontline workers and their families through traditional and non-traditional therapies.

But, there's been a lot of healing between then and now. In this episode, Jake explains how he's taken a second shot at his own life. The advice is applicable to everyone, not just those who have served our country.
