Twenty years before the start of the Technological Revolution, English author Aldous Huxley wrote Brave New World. Largely set in a futuristic World State of genetically modified citizens and an intelligence-based social hierarchy, the novel anticipates huge scientific developments in reproductive technology, sleep-learning, psychological manipulation, and classical conditioning that are combined to make a utopian society that goes challenged only by a single outsider.

Huxley foretold a wildly creative and wildly pessimistic view of the future of mankind. Flash forward 85 years and once again there are all sorts of predictions of coming doom. Are they justified?

Mark Metry doesn’t think so. In fact Mark believes that the future is infinitely bright.

In fact, he believes that fifty years from now people are going to look back to today with amusement.

“Man those people were so confused, and oh my god, do you believe that people were walking around without augmented reality interface that was directly connected to their optical nerve? Man, how were they living life? They must have been barbarians.”
