Gale Weathers and Courteney Cox made horror movie history with Scream VI. She is now the most featured horror heroine to appear consecutively in all the films in the series. She is now the only actor to appear in each film in the entry, a trend that broke for Neve Campbell and Sidney Prescott. In addition, Courteney Cox won a MTV Movie Award for her phone call and chase scene in Scream VI. And yet, this is perhaps the most controversial writing for the character in the series. Many fans have taken issue with how incomplete Gale’s arc is, how regressively she is written after an epic evolution in the first five films.
