Anthony David is Director of the University of College London Institute of Mental Health. For twenty-eight years he was a consultant psychiatrist at the Maudsley Hospital in London. He is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians, the Royal College of Psychiatrists and the Academy of Medical Sciences. His new book, "Into the Abyss: A Neuropsychiatrists Notes on Madness", explores several of his most challenging cases and examines the biological, psychological and sociological roots of mental illness.
