More than a decade before humans did it for real, tourists in Anaheim, CA could get a taste of what it would be like to launch in a rocket from Earth and land on the moon. Disneyland premiered the "Rocket to the Moon" attraction on July 22, 1955 and gave viewers a scientific (but fantastical) trip to our nearest neighbor in space.
