Online dating has become an integral part of our societies, especially in North America. Some of us have never even downloaded an online dating app (like myself and Salima), while others have benefited greatly from this technology and have been able to meet people they otherwise would have not had the chance to ever cross paths with. There are still many different opinions about online dating; some people question if these are truly apps for dating or only apps to be used for boody calls. Others worry that these apps reduce our social skills and ability to meet new people in natural physical environments. On the other hand, introverts may tell you that these apps have given them the opportunity to start conversations they would normally be too shy to engage in with total strangers and therefore enhance their chances at dating people outside of their immediate circle of friends. Today’s conversation will aim at exploring how online dating has changed our human interactions. We also have a surprise for you: for today’s episode we decided to give our conversation an interesting twist by inviting two men who will share their experiences and opinions on online dating. You will meet Marc, a 37 years old man living in the province of Quebec, in Canada, and Omar, a 25 years old man living in the city of Toronto. Both have had radically different experiences with dating, whether online or offline and have a lot to share with us today, let’s get to it!
Quote of the week:
"The goal of online dating is to get offline as quickly as possible."
-Amy Webb
