In doing a little research, Craig discovered a troubling trend regarding #1 records on Billboard.  Simply going back as recent as 2010 and comparing different genres represented  year over year to present day, it appears the masses are craving less variety these days.  The stats below are pretty telling.

Year - # of Genres Represented

2010 - 82011 - 82012 - 82013 - 92014 - 102015 - 82016 - 82017 - 72018 - 82019 - 72020 - 52021 - 4 (so far)

Of course, these stats are taken with "a grain of salt", as Billboard was the only resource used and only the  #1 album is represented each week, but seeing half the number of genres represented today compared to 2010 is shocking...and quite honestly sad.  So how to we add diversity to the musical masses?  Not sure we have the answer, but we're happy to do our part to provide some variety.
